Synopsis

Out: Stories of Lesbian and Gay Youth is an intimate exploration of the emotional, societal and familial conflicts faced by gay and lesbian youth across Canada. Through interviews with teens from various cultural and racial heritages, Adkin tries to break the often heavy and damaging silence surrounding sexual orientation and differences and opens up the discussion to many forms of discrimination. The stories told by transvestites, street hustlers, P-Flag, friends and queer kids all provide a sense of profound awareness but also of hope and joy.
