Synopsis

A sequel to the 1977's feature Outrageous!, this film allows the viewer to catch up with Robin, who is at the verge of success when a pair of agents discover him and are intent on making him a big star. Dealing with issues of belonging and identity, Too Outrageous! is more invested in the performances than the first film and uses Craig Russell’s immense talent as a performer less apologetically. However, at the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, the film, as Janet Maslin argues in her review for The New York Times, only makes passing references to it and conveniently deploys it as a plot device in order to remind its lead character that he should rethink his priorities.
